2018 Annual Conference Accreditation Statement
This live activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of AMDA – The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine and the Alabama Medical Directors Association. AMDA – The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physician

CMD Credit Statement
This live activity has been pre-approved by the American Board of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine (ABPLM) for a total of 3 management hours and 9 clinical hours toward certification as a Certified Medical Director (CMD) in post-acute and long-term care medicine. The CMD program is administered by the ABPLM. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit spent on the activity.

Certificate Statement for Nursing Home Administrators
The Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators has reviewed and approved the seminar entitled "ALMDA Annual Meeting" for 12 hours of continuing education credit for licensed nursing home administrators in the State of Alabama.

Objectives:
• Describe the latest treatment options for patients diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.
• Examine ways to avoid the common litigation pitfalls in Long Term Care settings.
• Articulate ways to assist providers in achieving the goal of reducing anti-psychotic drugs in nursing homes.
• Review treatment of urinary tract infection, urinary incontinence, catheter management and other common urologic problems.
• Demonstrate ways to help implement Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) to improve resident outcomes.
• Identify recent recommendations for best pharmacological practices and treatment of complicated nursing home residents.
• Emphasize ways to appropriately handle the needs of residents with complicated pain issues.
• Assess ways to appropriately manage urinary complications as a team consisting of physicians, pharmacist and surveyor.
